Steamed Bread Pudding with Dates

Salam Alaykum.
I got so rajin today sampai entah kenapa tiba-tiba terasa nak buat bread pudding dalam keadaan tak cukup bahan - Konon nak kata terror la walau tak cukup bahan, the output is some kind of mabelles..



Well, as for me, as long as you cook dengan penuh kasih sayang, walau dalam keadaan tak cukup ingredients, idea-idea untuk menggantikan bahan yang tak cukup tu PASTI akan muncul. Percayalah..

So, here is my budget sendiri punya recipe. Mula-mula tu tawakkal je lah kan, sebab niat asal pun buat untuk my son je since he is kind of person who can easily get bored if makan benda yang sama je everyday. Jadi, bila nampak ada telur, ada roti, apa lagi.... jom buat puding roti...

Ops, before lupa, recipe kat bawah ni memang yang sepatutnya bahan kena ada. Tapi, masa cik bulat buat ni, susu cair tak ada, so, cik bulat hanya guna susu pekat je. Bancuh dengan air, pandai-pandai la budget tahap kemanisan yang di ingini. Please remember, no sugar added ok sebab susu pekat tu dah manis dik non oii...

Main Ingredients

Bread
Butter
Vanilla essence (but i use strawberry flavouring hehe)
1/2 can of Condensed milk
1 can of Evaporated milk
Dates - finely diced - make sure to try out your dates so that you may know how sweet it is, and make some adjustment on the amount of condensed milk to be put later on.
Eggs -  about 3 to 4 - depends on how small and how big your brass is.

How to make it

1. You may boil the water in the steamer as it may take some time for boiling.
2. Put some butter inside the brass and wipe it - so that your pudding won't stick on the brass.
3. Put some butter to all breads too, and arrange it properly inside the brass - press the bread a little bit to ensure no breads are floating around.
4. In a bowl, mixed the condensed milk, evaporated milk, dates and eggs together. Add some vanilla essence and whisk it. Pour the mixed onto the brass, and steamed it for half an hour.
5. The bread pudding is however best serve with chocolate/strawberry sauce, and also with Vanilla ice cream on top.

Hehehe.. Cik Bulat bukanlah seorang yang expert in cooking. But I love to try out. Jadi tak jadi, belakang cerita.
Next, cik Bulat tengah nak belajar buat cake or cupcake ke.
Cik bulat gojes dengan inche suami dah pernah try buat biscuits and memang dah tertulis di loh mahfuz yang cik bulat gojes and inche suami MEMANG tak ada bakat untuk buat cookies.
Well, from time to time, kita try ajela.. try sampai pandai. - Untung la ada inche suami yang minat jugak dalam baking ni.
